Aero Delivers Complete Set of Components for the C-390 Millennium, Including Parts for the Czech Army
Vodochody, April 3, 2025 – Aero has recently completed the shipment of a full set of components for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, manufactured by Embraer. The set includes the wing leading edge, the rear fuselage, a complete set of doors, and the cargo ramp. Over the course of this year, Aero plans to produce a total of eight such component sets. This delivery also includes parts destined for two C-390 Millennium aircraft that will serve with the Czech Army.
“The C-390 Millennium program is a great example of long-term, effective industrial cooperation. Thanks to the trust of our customer, we have been able to significantly increase our production volume. Our aerostructures programs are becoming a strategically important revenue pillar for Aero, alongside the production of our tactical and training aircraft, the L-39 Skyfox,” said Viktor Sotona, President of Aero.
The components are transported using various methods depending on their size and characteristics. Oversized parts—such as the rear fuselage and the cargo ramp—are transported by road to the German port of Hamburg, and then shipped by sea to the port of Santos in Brazil. From there, they travel by road directly to Embraer’s final assembly line in Gavião Peixoto. Conversely, the wing leading edges and doors are transported by road to Weiterstadt, where they are consolidated and then shipped by air from Frankfurt to São Paulo, followed by road transport to the final assembly line.
Aero has been part of the C-390 Millennium program since 2011 and is responsible for the production of the rear fuselage, all doors, the cargo ramp, and the wing leading edges. In October 2024, Aero and Embraer signed a contract amendment strengthening their cooperation on the C-390 Millennium program. The agreement increased the Czech contribution to the aircraft’s production. This partnership reinforces Aero’s position as a key supplier in the aerospace industry and supports the development of aerospace capabilities not only in the Czech Republic, but globally. Aero is Embraer’s exclusive supplier for the manufactured parts and is involved not only in production but, in some cases, also in development. It is Embraer’s main industrial partner in the Czech Republic and one of the most significant in Europe.
